Im picking up a axle in the morning , waht do i need to know in pulling out and installing the new one. is there any clips holding the old one in? do i have to drain anything? anything else i should know.

Don't lose your LBJ nuts.
No drainage needed, ITBJRC 32mm nut holding the CV axle into the hub, may need to use a prybar to get the CV axle out of the diff housing.
