Rear Axle Hub Stripped Stud Hole

I have a 2003 jeep liberty and my question is one of my left rear studs was stripped. So I took the old one out. When I pressed the new one in I somehow stripped the grooves that the stud presses into. Anyone have any ideas how to fix or do I need.to buy a new axle shaft to replace it. Thank you.

Agreed - tack weld the stud; or replace the axle shaft.
