Hey ladies and gents! Just looking for a quick diagnosis on something:

When I start from a fully stopped position and accelerate, for a split second (maybe like 1/4 of a second) you hear and feel a slight rumbling. Not too worried about it, but I don't want to escalate to something major. So far, I'm thinking it's either just a bad U-Joint in the drive shaft (because it happens in reverse as well) or perhaps a bad CV joint? Anyone know how I can check these? Anyone else have a similar problem? It started happening after a bit of very light wheeling (and I bottomed out once, driver error... -___-).

Thanks everyone :)

Could also be torque converter shudder. Have you had the trans completely flushed & filled recently?

Just a thought - others will chime in with there feedback I'm sure.

I actually have. Had the trans flushed back in January. To give more info, if I'm going up hill slowly, it will more steadily grumble.

Anyone think this will be a good solution? I'm thinking it's the torque converter as well. Mainly due to the fact that power cuts out a bit when shifting into OD as well.

Dr. ****** Instant Shudder Fixx

Anyone ever use this before? Does it really work? I'm not too sure if there's physical damage or not. I wouldn't be sure how to tell. :\

Still looking for an opinion on Dr. ******. I've seen a lot on this on Ford forums and the product has positive reviews elsewhere. I mainly wanted to see if anyone has ever used it in the 42RLE.

Thanks again all! :)

I don't know about Dr. ****** but I know one KJ owner who uses Lube Gard in his Liberty's ****** and swears by it!
Hasn't killed his ******!
Considering its from the same company, I think it would be ok.
Anyway he's LibertyTC, might wanna a pm him and ask if he's used that stuff.

I've used Lube Gard in the power steering pump and it made a positive difference.
