rwd vs fwd vs 4wd wheels

Ok, so this has always left me wondering.... What are the major differences between rwd, fwd, and 4wd wheels. I know that the backspacing on fwd is usually less. Also, is it safe to run claimed to be rwd wheels on my libby??

As far as the wheels offered on the 2WD and 4WD Liberty models they are all the same. There is no difference in backspacing or even style.

So, yes, you can run 2WD wheels on your 4WD Jeep Liberty/Cherokee.

The only Jeeps that have FWD options are the Compass and Patriot (the U.S. name badges - the models may have different names in Europe.)

Main thing is to watch backspacing, on an unlifted KJ/Cherokee you have to stay as close as possible to stock. That means keeping it about 5 inches or so with a 7 inch wide wheel
