I have been using Dot 3 Brake Fluid for the brakes and Clutch Reservoir since 2002 when I picked up my Export CRD.

This Dot 3 is becoming very scarce...can I safely add Dot 4 to the brakes and clutch reservoirs?o_O

Someone found a sticker on the axle tube viewed from the back on the left side. Check the build sheet with your VIN#. Find a sandy gravel road and do a little burnout with someone watching both back tires to see if they both throw dirt at the same time. It takes a little spin on one side before it engages... or it's broken or doesn't have it.

Type your VIN number in here for the build sheet. https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
Trac-Loc had a sticker on the left side of rear diff, but stickers often are long gone.
If I remember right only 02, 03 & 04' & some 05's were possibly equipped with them as an option.
They were a clutch based locker, also knows as trash loc. My 04's clutch packs were replaced under warranty @ 33K miles.
The Trac-loc required a 4 oz bottle of mopar limited slip additive to gear lube.
Another way to tell: With both rear wheels off the ground, an open diff, when you turn on wheel will have the other tire spin in opposite direction.
Track Loc both tires spin is same direction.

I told my High school buddy whose a mechanic about replacing the transmission oil on my 2007 Jeep KJ, and since I haven't changed the transmission oil since I got the KJ in 2016, he advised not to do it now. His reasoning was that if I replace it with new oil, the transmission won't get into gears because the new oil's viscosity will be too thin compared to the old oil and won't shift properly.

Starting mileage in 2016 around 162,000 and now has 180,767, thats 5-6 years and 18,767 miles later.

Anyone heard of this before?

Assuming it's an automatic, you don't want to flush it out. Just drain, change filter and refill.

Drain and fill is fine, it's the flush that kills it. If a drain fill causes issues it was nearly dead anyhow and at least now you're close to home, but this is highly unlikely. Unless of course you're already having issues?
