So for proper armor / skids I need to spend 900-1000$ before shipping?

(will the Skid Row plates work nicely with the Mopar plate?)

If no then can you provide recommended product links for the absolute necessary skids to protect the belly of my 2003 KJ while off roading?

Thanks

I agree with Tom. I run a mixture as well - but another option is to find a KJ at a local salvage yard that has the Mopar engine skid. It is quite stout and will do a good job for you. Then you can add a 4XGuard trans skid and a Skid Row at the t-case and a Kilby or Skid Row at the fuel tank.

Personally I'd look to JBA for the skids. Very well built and Marlin treats the KJ community very well :waytogo:

Also you can look at skids two ways, as something that costs way too much money OR man I'm glad I bought the best skids out there and now don't have to replace my motor or transmission

$1000 on skids will save $9000 in major parts..........................

Skid row front skid,JBA's trans skid,Skidrow t-case,and Kilby gas tank skid is the best combo for maximum protection.

^ Clearly tjkj needed them. Every single scratch, gouge, or dent in the skids, otherwise would have been a rock or branch that shoved its way through an oil pan, trans pan, or cracked your t-case or diff.

If you're going to put skids on, put some on that will actually do some good. $1000 is still a thousand dollars.. hard to swallow for most. BUT, budget for it, save for it, re-allocate funds if need be.

I'm a very frugal, conservative spender.. and even I think this is one of those buy once cry once type of purchases.

Yep better then a $1000-$2000 tow bill of a trail(for me a mountain) and then a $4000+ engine.

Question! Which skid would you get if you were a street driver no offroad? Gas tank? Or front?

All, is the simple answer
Think of the ladders, chairs, trash and other junk that is on the roadways
I even hit a manual transmission once with my EB ( lots of traffic and saw it bounce off a truck and no where to go, not enough time to stop) . Sure was glad to have all skids on it at the time .
