yes thats what happens you're lucky that the wiring did not catch fire.
Happened to a buddy of mine 20 years ago, had some high powered lights wired up, we met and were doing a deal along the road and we see smoke coming from under his hood on the old Ford:eek:,
Only thought was.........Gotta put it out fast!

It's not mine. I saw this in the parking garage at work. At first I was like "Holy crap what the hell?!?" Then my second thought was "I gotta get a pic to post. The guys on the forum will love this."

That's what happens when you ignore the "maximum bulb wattage" for your lamps. :D


A buddy of mine used to drive about with his Hella500's on (only a 55 W bulb) with the plastic covers on. He didn't melt the covers but he did crack the lens of the Hella500's.
