Hi. Need some advice on subs & enclosures...
Basically, I'm looking for a little more "boom" to my bass in the simplest way.
How would you compare a ported enclosure (Type 3) to a bandpass enclosure? I read articles and they say the bandpass gives off "maximum slam", but is there a really noticable difference between the two types?
I have an extra 100w RMS overpowering my subs, currently (about 340W RMS from my amp going into a 225W RMS peak sub). So my question is, would it make more sense to replace my current sub with another with a higher peak rating (like 300W or so) or change the enclosure to a bandpass box?
I'd appreciate any other suggestions (well, other than "replace the whole system" LOL). Thanks.
