I've never heard of the "power wire" you refer to

Basically advances the timing a bit by modifying the signal from the iat (intake air temp) engine thinks you have colder air, more timing. Sent you a pm

What did you use to insulate the intake pipe

I just rapped my intake with these products.
Reflectix 16 in. x 25 ft. Double Reflective Insulation with Staple Tab-ST16025 - The Home Depot
1-7/8 in. x 120.3 yd. 555 FlexFix UL Listed Tape-1207803 - The Home Depot
These products are also flame resistant as well. I know that it has reduced the intake temperature because I can view the temperature using my code reader.

K&N filter information, this keeps coming up so lets look at some facts
as far as muffler swap goes you may gain 2/10 of a mile per gallon and .3 more horsepower but not much more
You really can't go by what manufacturers put out there trying to sell their junk.
Heres one such test and there are many many others every one K&N is on the bottom
