Took the KJ into the shop for an alignment and the alignment guy said that the passenger lower BJ had minimal play and still has some life left, but something to think about. It had both of them replaced under warranty back in 08, so would I be able to get it done for free again?

Also, if I can take it to the dealer to get it done for free, will they have to undo the clevis? I don't want to loose the clevis lift, but yet if I mention it I'm thinking they'll deny it. Any suggestions on that front?

Perrty sure they won't warranty the ball joint but you can ask. As for the clevis lift just let the tech know can't see that being a problem if you let them know first but Ill bet you will see a note on the alignment sheet noting the lift change. If it seems to be a problem with that dealer try another you don't want them working on it anyway. If you go to a good dealr this not a big deal.

Got a response....
I spoke with the service manager and he informed me that in order to replace the ball joint under recall again it has to have the same concern as the recall, which would be water getting into the joint its self and then causing seperation. We can schedule an appointment to inspect the ball joints for this recall. If the play is not caused by the same reason of the recall the recall will not apply and there will be a inspection fee of $39.95.

Thanks,
.......

HJ, one of the techs at Pishke downtown has a lifted Cherokee, so I'm pretty sure if you tell them about the lift it will be fine.

They didn't mention anything about my mods when I had my rear LCA recall done.

It probably would be. I'm not going to take it in quite yet...I want to see if I can figure out if it's wear or water causing it. Anyway to tell?

Not usually. Unless you have water sitting inside the boot, which is doubtful.
