I got in a crash in october and my co-pay for insurance is 1000 so im not gunna have them fix the damage, i know that im gunna need a new front bumper cover and the piece that holds the lights in place and i think an absorber. But after looking under it i see that the actual metal part of the bumper is mangled up. can someone post a pic of this metal piece so i know what exactly im looking for and if anyone knows what that piece is called?

That part is called the front bumper cross member,it has 50 spot welds that need to be cut and then the new one is welded back on.

Ugh...so how much would a new part cost? I have a friend who's dad could cut and weld so the labor I can deal with

I would call around to the junk yards to see if you can find the whole front end assembly you're going to need. It may save you some cash.

It is a special order part so there is no price until you order it,dealership only off course.Getting a used one may be cheaper but can be a big hassle since it will be a little mangled from removal from the other vehicle and just takes more time to get it to work.
