I just bought a 2006 liberty and am getting a 3 inch lift from rough country. Im not exactly sure what tires yet but some sort of 30 to 31 inch all-terrains. I was wondering if i have to get anything mechanically altered due to the lift and larger tires. Does getting the lift and tires wear out or work parts harder? Has anyone had a problem with this? The last question is; does anyone have a recommendation on tires? I do a lot of highway driving so i would prefer some tires that get a little bit better gas milage and wear.

Thanks!

First off dont go rough country for the lift took about 3 months to kill my front suspension struts and springs which lead to upper control arms. And the rear springs sagged real quick and second set just the drivers side sagged. This all took place in a 3 to 4 month time period. Ended up going withold mane emu springs and iron man front struts and couldnt be happier rides a hell of alot better to... save and get the good stuff dont make the same mistake I did.....!

Also im not bashing rough country I ran one of there lifts on my xj and it was fine for years. Think the just didnt do enough research on the kj?

x2 ^ We have a lift section and I would recommend reading there or even post ..when you have some time.
Rough country..ahhh....save a few $ & try a OME 927-948 combo!
The Cv & bearings/hubs seem to hold up well on the KJ once lifted.
You will loose some fuel mileage with more aggressive, larger/heavier tires.
Many want the look and off road prowess, of a 30 inch set up but clearance can become a problem from tire inside fender rubbing in turns. I run spidertrax wheel spacers with 245's & New Jeepin by Als 4.5 upper control arms, with no rubbing.
Have not had to pound the pinch welds..yet...
I am currently still running the GY Silent Armor in 245-65-17 but may go larger into Duratrac next time. The silent Armors are kevlar tread and work well for strength and hyw ride & are relatively quiet, work well off road as well.

As mentioned look over everything in the LIft Section
Rough Country / Daystar any spacer lift is bad news
Get a full spring lift from OME or Ironman ( check jeepinbyal for one stop shopping)
Stick with a no more than a 30 inch tall tire unless you want to regear
