That seems very expensive.
I've used Monroe for rear hatch glass & hood as well.

I just used ebay struts, cheap and work ok.

I have the HoodLift kit. You’ll be happy to know I installed it 12 years ago and the lift struts are still doing great.

I don’t miss the hood prop being in my way when I’m working on the engine. Nor hitting my head on the hood latch, because the HoodLift kit raises the hood just enough higher up.

I think you made a good purchase, Kiwi.

One of the ball-head studs popped out of its "L" bracket, it was not properly swedged (?) into its "L" bracket. So I replaced it with a 5/16 threaded shank ball-head from Amazon. This required drilling out the hole in the "L" bracket to 5/16"
