Hi all, Im new to the Jeeps but my daughter wants a Liberty for High school commuting etc. We are looking at a 2003 with 110,000 miles and a 2006 with 130,000. When searching reviews I see good and bad on both years. Is there a better year of the 2 or even a better year other than 03 or 06. I would like to stay with 02 to 07. Thanks for any input

Personally I'd go for the 03 out of those two. I have an 04 that has done great bought new, 204,000 on it now.
Later models get stuck with all of the ABS and that BS

Most will advise to go with the 2003 becasue it doesn't have all of the annoying bells and whistles.

Really, it all comes down to which one has been better taken care of though. I would go with the one that seems the most mechanically sound of the 2.

Thanks all.

Still a tough decision as both are 2 hours from my house, each in opposite directions of course!

05 won't have the ABS/ESP crap standard either...my 05 Limited doesn't have that crap but has everything else. I'd go with whatever is in the best condition. All years of KJs are great in reality.

Yeah. Others are right. Really need to see, drive and find out more. Too many variables.

I think an 04-05 Khacki color with lower miles is always a safe bet as long as it is clean...right HJ?

Finding one regardless of year that has maintenance history is always good too.
I would recommend taking the time to have a good inspection on a lift as well.
Engine compression, no oil leaks, rad pressure test, etc, & codes scanned too!
Know what you are buying in good shape gives ya confidence to want to mod the heck out of it! (ask me how I know) LOL

Sport models don't have the the nine yards of bells and whistles, my 07 Sport is pretty blank in that department aside TCS, and ABS that's it oh and having the ETC light for the fly by wire.

Not all vehicles are treated the same I just bought an 09 over a 10 because the 09 was in much better condition than the 10. Take the advise that others have posted and take the time to check them out in the long run you'll be happier you did.

Not always. My Sport has everything a Limited has... except heated leather seats. So it depends if it's a high-end Sport or not.
