KJ Front Guard

has anyone bought and installed one of these? specifically for an 05+ MY? I'm seriously considering ordering all the skids in the next couple of days, but I'd like to hear from someone who's installed the front guard, how it actually mounts, and if they can take some pictures so I can see if it'll have issues with the plow mount I installed.

Thanks!

Tom has/had one on his (he changes his front clip more than I change my underwear... :happy175: ) and it looked really good. If I remember correctly it just bolted right up and is made from the same stock as the engine and ****** skids.

I have the ****** skid and it's a beast. I'd like to get the engine skid too - just wish JBA made fuel tank and transfer case skids too :emotions34:

I think they have a fuel tank one now. Shows one on the site but no pics.

my plan was to order all 4. at first I was going to drive out there and get them (3 hr round trip) but the shipping only comes out to $74.

like I said I'm concerned about it not fitting because I have a plow mount on mine, and it looks like the edges of it are right where the bracket is.

Thanks for the tip! Gonna have to call Marlin and see if he can send me a couple of pics - and see if it will fit with a hitch.

hey if he gets pics, either post them here or have him put them online. especially how tight it is to the tank, as I know some diff covers stick out more than stock.

I have ran the front guard on mine with the Matrix Brush guard and the RL bumper so far. Of course with anything I have I modified it from the get go since it bolts a little different with the front stock bumper cover on. I would say if anything you may have to make a couple of cuts at most to clear the plow mounts.

that's what it's looking like to me as well. the bracket for the plow hangs below the front bumper a bit, and it's in line with where the front tow hooks bolt up (uses those same openings in the frame horns.) I almost think I'd need to notch out material from the guard, which kind of defeats part of the purpose, as I'd want it to protect the plow bracket as well from impact.
