I need a new front driveshaft for my 2005 KJ Limited, but I live outside the USA and so I'm at the mercy of the sole importer of Mopar spares here. They're quoting me the equivalent of $571 for the shaft.
Even allowing for international shipping costs it looks like it would be cheaper to buy the part from a US-based online supplier. I've found this one for $369, but it does say "Manual Transmission" and I have an auto. Is there really a difference between the driveshafts used on manuals and autos or are they interchangeable?
If I need a specific auto driveshaft, can anyone point me to a good supplier? It needs to be a flat cost, no remanufactured shafts with core charges - shipping the old shaft back to them would blow the economics of the deal given that I'm not US-based.
Anything that keeps me out of the clutches of the local Mopar-importing gougers would be appreciated...
