I've been driving the KJ around quite a bit the past couple weeks and I noticed a bit of a clunk when going over bumps and speed bumps. Seems to come from the whole front end, not one side in particular. It's a 2wd model with 37k miles. I don't remember hearing that before, is there a known issue I should look into? I took a cursory look under there and didn't see anything obviously wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if I would say they're prone to loosening... but it happens.

When ever i hear some one say " clunking noise from the front end" my mind goes straight to bad shocks or struts. Couldnt hurt to check everything. Check all the bushings, ball joints and the upper control arm and tierods. You got a whole lot going on in the front end and its under almost constant abuse. Nothing more anoying imo then a loose front end. Good luck with it, let us know how you make out.
