Evic fail when headlights switched in

Hi all
I have exhausted all of the internet and not found this.
2007 Cherokee 2.8 crd
When I switch on the headlights, the evic switches off.
Switching headlights off sees the evic on again after a few seconds.
Any info appreciated I am back to the drawing board in this.

I would start by checking the dimmer switch, it might work at some setting
