I read on the Internet about one simple trick which can add up to 4", put a new Spring in your action, Shock you out of your doldrums, and Lift your spirits. There is some debate about whether you'll have a new Strut, though.

I am ready to get rolling on my lift. For the sake of starting the discussion, here is my current plan:

I can see you going for the Amazon if free shipping is involved I guess , saves a little
As far as the TM Econo kit or the Frankenlift
TM Econo has everything and does give you 3.5-3.75 inches of lift
Franky's give you about the same when broken in and yes you'll need the JBA UCA's on top of the price
But what you have listed is a 2.5 inch lift only since no " extra's " so I am assuming you're going to stay at that height then?

I would either step down to the medium coils for the front or get HD ones for the rear. If you run mediums in the rear and HD up front the front will not want to flex at all.

And maybe get OME shocks for the rear at least. I went through 2 sets of Bilstein shocks that all eventually leaked and rode horrible.

He is using the mediums for the rear, the 948s
There isn't any HDs for the rear, only light and medium duty

I told someone off-list that if it were even within $50-$100 I would just order the Tommudd and be done with it. It works out to much more than that, though.

No. I am still figuring this out. I'd like to go as high as possible but below the point where I'd be looking at crazy stuff.

They also have a 12-pack for $20 and a 50-pack for $45. I don't have a drill press so maybe I ought to get some spares.

Are you going to be adding a bumper or winch soon? If not you might want to go 926 for the front. I know that's not a common thing, but I did that and loved it. I could fully stuff the front wheels easily. I'm not sure with 927s up front with no weight will flex well.

I would love to, but this is a stretch for me right now. (Long story, but the short version is that I've gotten fed up with being sooooo darn responsible.) I hope to add wheels and tires next spring, so a new bumper is likely a year away. (I don't play the lottery and can't be TOO irresponsible.)

What would the ride be like with those if I stuck with the factory bumper?

The ride will be a bit firmer, doubt it would be uncomfortable. I just don't think it'll flex as well. I don't have any hard data to back that up, but I just know mine with the 926s flexed great up front and the 927s with a winch flex the same.


And lol. You'll be riding high in no time (and you'll have a lift on your Jeep too)

From my forum readings, as long as the last 3 digit matches, it is correct.

To get to the 3.5 mark (which is as high as you can go without getting crazy) on top of what you have here you will need a top plate spacer for the front strut as well as some sort of clevis spacer. JBA sells a top plate at 1/4" and a .375" clevis spacer. the clevis spacers can be done with a conduit nut you don't have to buy the steel spacer. ill let someone else comment on that however because I used the steel spacers from JBA.

Spacers on the front strut add double the thickness of the spacer in total lift. so the 927 spring will put you at 2.5" lift and with both spacers you end up at about 3.75" of lift which will settle in around 3.25-3.5"

on the rear you will want to add at least one extra upper isolator on the spring. With the extended bilstein shocks on the rear you can add two extra isolators if you wish but for me that makes the jeep too tall in the back compared to the front

You will need BOTH of the first links. The recommended size for the clevis spacer with the OME springs is .375.

On the rear you would be adding only UPPER iso. Again, one or two per side, depending on your taste

NOW if I was you ( and I'm glad Im NOT! ) :happy175:
But I would run 927/948 combo, many have ran without a front bumper, talk to Bob and many others, firm at first but break in nice. I know one who doesn't like the 927s without a bumper , but we won't mention names since he's already posted what he thinks ! LOL
On height, I would do the 927s plus a 1/4 inch top plate, which gives you 3 inches then only 1/8 or at most 1/4 inch clevis in front. Any more and you get real close to that spring / UCA contact point.
Rear two extra iso per side , but may make the rear somewhat higher at first
I would keep it about 3.25 , from experience, hitting that magical number everyone thinks they must have is a give and take on CVs, contact in front etc

I know I know I went further and further on my 04 just to be one of the tallest for years:emotions34::happy175:
