Quick change in weather from mid 50's to high 20's has brought problems to my KJ again. Luckily and hopefully its just the battery. I think. It drove fine yesterday. Had to go somewhere today, and got that buzzing starter sound..

Anyways, Im stuck driving my moms WK2 until I get the battery problem fixed. Which probably won't be until the weekend. I hate cold weather. :pp:

No Trickle Charger? My Jeep is often plugged into one of these 3.3A intelligent.

What is the battery voltage reading?
Another tool for testing each cell on lead acid with removable caps is a hydrometer.

Tells ya in a hurry how the battery charge is, and if each cell is good!

Sounds like the battery. Mine went out completely, all of the sudden, about 4 years ago (which makes me wonder how long my current one will last...)

A quick jump-start, and a trip to Autozone took care of the problem. Most places will test your battery for free before you buy a new one.

UPDATE: I hooked it up to a charger about 3:00 this afternoon and just started it like 5 minutes ago and it runs fine. Its definitely the battery. But I'll have to get around to looking more into it this weekend. Im hoping running it helped the alternator charge it just a bit. I dont know. We'll see

I'd be surprised if you don't start developing other little electrical gremlins before you replace the battery... that's a common occurrence for our KJ's. Hope it hangs on till you can get it replaced.

X2

it went dead for a reason. More than likely because it has stopped taking a charge. A more distant reason is that your alternator is not charging it.

Get a new battery.
