When performing a "Clevis Lift", is there a "Lift" ratio in proportion to the amount of "Clevis lift" that applies to the KJ's Hubs Clevis or does the amount of "Spacing" equal the amount of lift?

What I mean is...
If you raise the position of the upper suspension dampeners lowest part within the "Clevis" by lets say by "The usual recommended 3/8 of an inch". Does this 3/8 of an inch give you an additional 3/8 inch of lift? Or is it multiplied by a factor?
Like two to one or is the "Clevis lift" equal?
3/8 on an inch equal to 3/8 on an inch?

By the way,
I received my Frankenlift late on Wednesday afternoon and I am ready to pull out my inner CV joints so I can mill off three eights of an inch ( 9.525 millimetres. I'll round it up to 10mm/1cm. {Thats Plus 0.475mm.}) so I can maximize the amount of lift on our Rig.
I'll take lots of photographs during the machining/shortening of the Constant Velocity Joints process.
As well as the total dis-mantling of the battery tray mounting on the drivers side (North America and Continental Europe KJ Versions) and air box location (North America and Continental Europe KJ Versions) under the hood so that I can install the lift kit as well as install the "Al's" upper control arms.

So...
I'll be busy machining CV joints, installing a Frankenlift, Clevis lift, Backbone/winch.
In addition to the above, I'll also be installing Extra lighting, interior accoutrement's and running around getting my tires fitted!

I'll be in touch ever body!

It's double, Ryan.

The shock is fitted in the centre of the LCA.

So, in my case, I added 15mm to it and that gave me 3 cm's of extra lift.

Right then!
That is sort of what I figured.
Anyway, I'm going to bed now!
All the goods are in house now.
I'll take pictures of all the goodies on the pool table and then it's incommunicado for me!:p
Unless I run into any problems, I won't be here for a while...
Time to "Go to town and get 'er done!"

damn Ryan what lottery did you hit that you got all this stuff at once?

I saved up all my spare change and squirrelled money away for the last thirty months!

Oh, and I worked a street corner from time to time on the side!

Funny thing?

This one chick that kept picking me up and paying me for my services everyday for the last two and a half years, not only drove a KJ that looked remarkably just like mine, but she also looked just like my wife Jen!:D

All kidding aside, Jen has been egging me on to buy what I want.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Cutting the CV's is pointless for the Frankinlift, you will never see that much droop.Plus unless you machine a new clamp area and internal "C" clip area your boots will never stay on and the CV will pull itself apart if you ever have to remove it for some reason.

Might want to check this thread.............

Thanks for the information TJ!
If there is no need to machine down the CV joints, as you say in your post, then I will not bother doing it.

As far as actually doing the machining work, My father would be in their like a dirty shirt!
He is retired now. In addition to once being an licenced electrician. (His first trade.) He was a journey man tool and die maker with sixty years real life work experience as an Aerospace machinist as well as a watch and clock maker!
Gears inside wrist watches, the nibs of ball point pens that hold the micro ball bearings, etc. were among his favourites
He worked for Boeing in the 1960's in Everett, Washington on the very first Boeing 747 fabricating aircraft wing trusses out of Billet Titanium as well as building the spiral staircase in the first 747. He later worked for Hawker-Sidley Aircraft.
So, the little groove for the internal clip that holds the inner CV in, would in no way even faze him!;)
Or me for that matter!
I've been in machine shops and engineering firms since I was old enough to walk!
See, I made my own hight adjustable suspension and adjustable front upper suspension dampener mounts for my Mini, so I can raise and lower the vehicle without the need to have shorter suspension dampeners (Shocks) and retain full movement from the front and rear Spax Gas Adjust or Koni suspension dampeners.
It's a real treat to have a small machine shop at my Pa's house!
That, and his neighbour is a Hot Rodder with a full service automotive shop in his back yard!
We trade specialized labour skills with one another!
Gotta love it!
