I am looking for advice on lifting my Jeep Liberty KK. Looking to do it on more of a budget and looking for a 2-3 inch lift. Not concerned with rock crawling or building a crazy off-roader. I just want a little extra clearance and to eventually upsize tires to 245/75/16. I just want the ability to drive rough back roads and two tracks back to remote lakes for fishing (have been doing this stock but hitting rough holes and mud frequently enough that I want a lift). I have seen the rough country 2.5” lift for $700. I understand people have strong opinions either way with Rough Country. I have also seen the Bilstein and OME options but get lost with what all is need and what pairs together to get a simple barebones 2.5” lift. Eventually I would also add JBA upper control arms. None of this work would be done till spring or summer as I don’t go into rough areas during winter as I live far north with lots of snow. This gives me time to set money aside and plan according also buy parts if they go on sale early. Opinion and advice on brands, what pairs together, what I actually need vs what would be over top and even mock builds that you would do for this simple clearance lift on budget is greatly appreciated (links super helpful, cars are not my strong suit yet but I’ve been learning a lot this year). Thanks for helping a newcomer.

I had seen that. I have been reading a lot of past posts but between discontinued parts, more complex or higher lifts than I desire I started this thread hopeful others would offer more concise advice and leave out any parts deemed unnecessary or update part numbers. If nobody does I will have to do my best and hope I don’t waste any money.

I installed a RockFather Deluxe 3" suspension for my KJ from Rocky Road Outfitters. It took a weekend (and some cussing) to install. Get the upper control arm and the preassembled struts.

I documented my 2” OME Bilstein lift install with part numbers for all parts. It rides so much better! Highly recommend it!

Following up. I have decided I do not want spacers and would like new front and rear suspension. Thinking of going with OME front shock 93009 paired with front coil spring 2709 (heavy duty - so I can add a metal bumper and winch for self recovery if needed). Paired with a rear shock OME 63069 and springs 2731 (heavy again to just tow a small aluminum boat and prevent sag over time). Please let me know if I need any other parts to complete this. Biggest question I still have is do these pairings work? From what I’ve seen yes just looking for confirmation of someone who knows more or maybe used these parts. Also I am planning on using existing stock assembly parts and just swapping the coils and shocks themselves can I do that or is it now feasible? If it isn’t what parts would I need?

I had one front struts that recently one failed. It broke at the top hat. But I did have 5” of lift. Now I have rough country 2.5 “ struts with a 1” subframe lift. I will be changing the top hat out for the ones from one. Extra lift.
