Broke some PCV stuff.

As it says I broke some stuff on the PCV tubes and above the valve.

Before it looked like this.

Now this. I have been trying to get the valve out off and on since I got the Jeep in July to check it .

I have followed directions on how by rotating and pulling it. Today it popped when I put just a little into it.

I wonder if the tubing itself has become brittle as it aged. The end of this plastic pipe that fits to rubber at the firewall, this snapped too at an earlier date, and I quick fixed it with clear stuff till I get the black rubber hose.

It works okay, just crimps up in places.
So what the heck is going on here? I want to replace it all with oem parts and been done with it. But I still can't the valve out to see it.

The pcv you have to push in and turn. I break mine off every time I change it lol. Don't feel bad.

Yeah, I have changed mine a couple of times and always think I am going to break it but so far I haven't. That sukka is really in there good.

Hahaha. I did the same thing. Didn't know about the whole "pushing in" thing at first. Broke mine as well. Even with pushing it in, it is a pain in the ass to get out.

I also broke that T-piece when I cleaned my PCV valve. I ended up using epoxy resin and a strip of material from a T-Shirt (for reinforcement. like with fibre glass) to fix it. Doesn't look so great, but it's strong. I did use a black t-shirt at least D:

Tried super glue first, then epoxy by itself ...both just broke when re-fitting

I allways use some Di-Electric grease on mine when I put a new one in, and when its time to take it out, it turns out easy as can be.

I replaced all those hoses and fittings with some nice reinforced rubber hose and plastic fittings from the hardware store...I hate that brittle OEM stuff. Probably cost me less than $10 to redo the whole system in materials that will never fail again.

Good idea. I have a couple of little tubes of that stuff just doing nothing.

I just took some 5/8" hose and connected to the breather ports on the back of the heads,then ran the hoses up and attached some breather filters on the ends.Capped the ports on the intake tube and no more worries.Can post some pics tomorrow if anyone wants some.
