Ok, so today I whipped out the owners manual and flipped to the fuse panel page to see what fuse worked the interior lights. What I found was that the fuse that ran the interior lights also ran other things like the radio. So that immediately changed my mind because I didn't want to shut my radio off all the time either. So, while still reading what all the fuses were for I saw "Stop Lights" in the description of slot 13. So I decided to test it and took the fuse out and ran a couple of small jumpers to a switch and pushed my tool bag down on the brake pedal and walked around the back, they were off!
So, I cut some longer wire and put a small glass fuse in on wire and hooked them both to the switch and plugged them into where the original fuse goes then hid the switch under the dash next to the kick panel.

With the bag still on the pedal, the lights did not light up!
Now, I checked to make sure it would still shift into drive and would still shut off the cruise so it is fine and was really easy! I know ya'll will say what if I forget to turn it back on then get on the road and so I decided I'm going to get a small LED and mount it where it is visible when lit. Then get a re-directing switch to where when in the off position it will send power to the LED, and when in the on position it will send power to the brake lights!
