I've read a few articals stating the weak point of the 45rfe is the accumulator cover.

What are the symptoms of a bent or broken accumulator? A transmission that slips due to no pressure on the clutches.

I don't have any problems with mine. I'm just wondering.

This seems to be more common in Dodge trucks. Or at least when I Googled for information everything seems to come up on Dodge forums. I did find one webpage relating it to problems on the WJ.

Is it because the 3.7L doesn't have the output the V8's do, or simply because the 45rfe was installed in a lot more Dodge trucks than Jeeps.

There is one manufacture of aftermarket accumulator plates for the 45rfe that states "Chrysler has instructed their techs to retorque all the valve body screws whenever the pan is off this unit."
