It should work. When I first bought my 2005 I wanted to put a 2004 cluster in it because of the white faced gauges. I asked the parts counter if this will work and they said yes. Too bad a cluster was over $500 or else I would've done it.

Well I decided to go for it and bought a cluster from a 2005 Sport at a local salvage yard, I was kinda worried that it wouldn't work when I got it because the configuration of the cluster was different from my 03 (tach and speedo are opposite, telltales in different spots as well as the cruise telltale is in the odometer display on the 2005) but after I hooked it up everything works fine!! I was even able to switch the bezels on them so the 05 cluster has the chrome rings that came in my limited. I like this cluster way better than the (played-out) White gauges.

You didn't have to get it programmed? Does it still have the VIN/mileage of its original vehicle or did it adapt to your vehicle?

I don't know what you mean by VIN of the original vehicle but the Mileage is stored in the cluster itself so It still states the mileage of the original Vehicle that it was in, Luckily though that is less than 50 miles off of what the mileage of my Jeep is. I am not sure if the dealer could program the exact mileage but as it is so close I won't worry about it.

Make sure you have the correct paper work stating the new mileage and cluster.If/whn you sell and someone finds out your on the hook for a federal crime.

not quite... all I have to do is disclose that it is "Not Actual Mileage" and the title will be branded as such (at least that is how it works in the 2 states that I reside in) The only way it would be a crime is if I didn't disclose (or lied about) the mileage difference.

Yeah but they will want the paper work stating the work needed for the mileage "not known".

now that is indeed a fact, the NAM brand will make it harder to sell if I wanted to but I don't foresee that happening. I do have the receipt for the cluster that states the VIN and Mileage of the vehicle pulled from as well as a timestamped photo of the mileage on my original cluster for my records though ;)

Plus with the new cluster it now looks like I have 46 more miles on my Liberty so no one will think I was trying to turn back the mileage.
