I have an 06 2.8 CRD.

Fuel filter body changed 6 months ago.
107,000 miles, changed timing belt and water pump at 103,000 ($1200.00)
Changed the fuel filter last week
Dealer did some kind of software tune two weeks ago.

Here's what's going on:

Last month when the temp dipped close to zero and It was almost impossible to start the ole girl up. It would take 6 to 10 cycles. When it did start it idled like crap and seemed to have lost some power. Until I get up to about 80 MPH.

The engine light is on.

Cruise control doesn't work.

The temp when warmed up is still 1/4 below the mid-line.

Heater works fine.

Radiator fluid level normal.

Whatever the dealer did helped the cold starting. Starts first time no matter what the temp is.

I bought the 130.00 thermostat but haven't put it in yet. Looks like it might take a few hours to do.

Questions: Anyone think the thermostat might help? Any tricks to putting it in? Other ideas?

You need to find out why the engine light is on. Find somewhere where you can get the OBDII codes pulled out then you should have something to work on.
