'02 Intermittent Start Issue

I have an odd problem. Intermittently, I'll get a no start no crank, just a strong click from the starter... Not really having frequent long cranks. where do I even begin to look?

Check battery connections are clean and tight and Negative lead going to chassis is clean and tight.

If this is a V6 check the two grounding straps going from back of the two heads and then onto the firewall are clean and tight all ends.

Is battery good? Have it checked out by a Battery shop and check that it is charging properly when running!

If you have a thick cable such as a set of Jumper cables...clamp one end to the Negative battery terminal and the other end onto the Starter Motor housing. If it now starts nicely then it shows that you have a grounding problem.

Otherwise the Starter/Solenoid may be faulty!
