Feeling the gears shift and bucking when backing up

I know all about your problems. Have the same problems as you are describing with my wife's 05 jeep. Its got about the same mileage as you have, but since we bought it new, the problem has been there. Mine has been to the dealer three times, and they haven't successfully fixed it yet. I have...

    Which Oil ?

I can't remember the name of the company that makes the electronic rust system off the top of my head, but my buddy has it on his chevy pickup, and his dad has it on his monte carlo. They are hooked to the battery, and there is a wire with a pad with adhesive that has to be stuck up near the...

    Towing a boat

You will be fine, just leave a little extra room for stopping. I've towed with and without the brakes, and although the brakes make it a bit easier for stopping, as long as you use your head and keep an eye out in front of you, you should be fine. If you have a single axle trailer on that...

Liberty Renegade + Lake Christy + speed = bad day

just pull the plugs, drain the oil, wd-40 the heck out of the engine compartment, replace the oil, and the plugs and fire it back up. I doubt it would hurt the engine, been there, seen that before, I would be more concerned about the electronics under the hook the the internals of the motor.

    **NEED HELP REMOVING PARTS**

The hitch is cake, just take the six bolts out from underneath and yank it out of there. If it is a factory hitch with factory wiring, then you will have to tear apart the interior to get behind the passenger side panel to remove the wiring box, then you will need to cut the clips on the wire...

Anyone with a older KJ finding any rust around the

I have an 05, and mine has some rust starting across the top edge of the gate that is covered by the rubber. I just noticed it a couple weeks ago, but mine is soon to go in for the ball joint recall, so the dealer will def be doin something about it.

    Replacing Steering wheel

You might want to check with the dealer at least about the clock spring. On some vehicles the clock spring cannot be re-used. Although this may not cause the airbag to blow when you start the car back up, it could cause the airbag light to remain on. And be sure when you start the car back...

    Checking Trasmission Fluid - 07 3.7 w/Auto

VW's do not use ATF, that is why the trans fluid is lifetime. It is really strange stuff, made from whale oil or something, pretty oil, and really expensive. I needed a liter when I replaced my trans cooler, and it cost 19 bucks. Good thing I only needed that much. So far thats my only...

    Checking Trasmission Fluid - 07 3.7 w/Auto

There were some posts before about the 07's loosing the dipsticks. Has nothing to do with the dealer you purchased from, its a vehicle wide thing, not something they did at the dealer before selling them. An automatic transmission isn't something that is really going to need the fluid checked...

    Interior Fabric / Water spots

Just because you think its dry, its really not. Use the vac and suck it off, and eventually it will go away. Sometimes the spots last a few days, and sometimes they are gone within a day, just depends on the weather.

    Locking lugs, only on spare?

No locks on mine, my dad has a nut busting tool at his shop, and if anybody else has one, I can get a lock off without a key faster then unscrewing it, so I don't think its really worth the time, and like somebody else said, you can just unscrew the bracket off the tailgate and be gone with it...

    02 Jeep Liberty Towing question.

Im with the rest of them. I also tow regularly with the lib, I would add the trans cooler and you will be good to go. Depending on what your trailer is actually rated for will depend if it has brakes already installed or not. If it has the brakes then be sure to install the 7 pin wiring along...

    Interior Fabric / Water spots

High powered vaccum, like one from a car wash. They will eventually dry and go away, it just sometimes takes a while. I used to have a problem with it, cause the seats would always spot up, but got used to it real quick. Stain gaurd or anything like that does not help the problem, although I...

    PARAGON is closing!!!!

I was up there yesterday (Sunday). It was really sad to be there on the last day anyone was able to ride. I did take the KJ, but it was only used to pull the trailer full of atv's. They had a big raffle on Saturday and the owner Kyle was thanking everyone for coming out and was upset and...

    Snow Plow

I want one!!!! Then I don't have to take the chevy out of the garage so much. Old ones rust much faster then new ones do. I don't think I would really get into commercial type plowing the liberty, but it would be cool for plowing my driveway and a couple friends. I would have to stick with...

Drilling holes in pinch seam.. Rust??

Just pointing out that I suggested that as well. poke.gif Good luck though, wouldn't want to see anybody's jeep rusting. Mine is already starting on the back gate, which I can't believe for an 05!

    Chrome or Body-Colored Grill

Just my opinion, but I like the body colored grill rather then the chrome, that was of the reasons we purchased a sport instead of a limited.

Drilling holes in pinch seam.. Rust??

If it was me, I would just leave them on. Coat them with something first, like maybe some undercoating, or something a little tougher then just paint. When you tighten up the bolts, its going to leave imprints on the entire spot welded seam, and over time it will eventually wear the paint away...

    Relocating power window switches

One advantage for the long run is it is one less set of wires to break from opening and closing the door. At first I went to the door to get them, but I got used to them. And since my VW has the controls in the center console, I always go for them there now.
