I have about twenty tape measuring devices, want me to send ya one so you'll know what fits and what doesn't ? ;)
Way off base on why prices are up, but we do not discuss politics here, so you'll figure out the real reason soon :)

You can measure all you want and still not know if a thing actually fits or not, unless you actually try it. Sometimes that's just the way it has to be done. And sometimes, lo and behold, it fits, when the tape measure said it wouldn't. Things like putting something on it's side, etc, or at an angle.

As to the reasons for the prices, yes, in fact I do know a lot about it, but, you are right, I just didn't want to get into it. We don't need to get into it here.

I am enjoying driving the Jeep to work. I'm just paranoid about the deer.

Like the 2 women at Sams Club the other day, pulled in to eat a sandwich in their lot, and laugh at people. These two were trying to fit a 12 foot wide TV ( well maybe not that big but was large ) into a small little GM type of a buggy they twisted and turned it every which way. Quite amusing :)

Compared to my motorcycle, my ATV, and my car, the Jeep seems to be a monster.

But maybe the truth it, it's rather puny. Particularly so if a 4x8 sheet won't fit in.

The Chrysler engineers were able to figure out that even soccer mom might want to buy a sheet of plywood at some time, between trips taking the kids to soccer practice.

Thus the post above about the mini van that fits a 4x8 sheet.

The Jeep engineers weren't smart enough to figure that out I guess. Or the Jeep is dinky, compared to what it feels like (a monster).

Tom, you should have used your tape measure to measure that TV for those ladies. Maybe you would have found out it weren't no 12 feet, and you could have told them it wouldn't fit.

I'm pretty sure Liberties have less cargo room than the XJ's. Either way, I can fit 10' bundles of conduit in my KJ. All I have to do is recline the passenger seat all the way and pull a head rest off the back seat. She slides right it with inches to spare :D

I filled up the other day. 12.1mpg, ICK! I can't wait for it to be warm so I'm not warming it up every morning.

The KK is no slouch when it comes to cargo hauling capacity. To fit a 4x8 piece of plywood, have the store cut it up for you first! :p

Those are 8’ long 2x4’s. Having the front seat fold flat is an awesome feature.

I have heard of KJ folks installing a KK fold flat front seat in their rig. So it can be done.

I can carry 8' 2x4s in my Honda Civic. Maybe also 10'. The front seat folds flat back. And the rear seats fold flat forward, opening an opening into the trunk.

As to the one 4x8 sheet I wanted, I wanted it in 4x8 configuration. Otherwise I would have had it cut into what I want.

But it's not much of a big deal any way. I didn't buy the KK to haul wood. I bought it to haul a trailer. And the 4x8s fit onto the trailer. Without cutting. But it's only 6'x8' trailer, tho. But, I can borrow neighbors trailers.

Today I got to check the air in my slow leak rear tire and think again about how to solve that.

I also got to check power steering fluid. It looks like it has a little leak, or seepage. It was down when I got it, but only by about one or two ounces. And it seems to be holding up now.

But I need to watch it.

And watch the internet for hoods for my car, so I can get the car back in service and back to work on the Jeep. A/T fluid and filter, and paint POR15 on pan, rear transmission cross member, passenger door lock, driver's door key lock. Then it's about perfect.

Still starts every time.

Howard

I like how you have spaced plywood between your stacks of 2x4. That way they won't get dirty on the edges, and they won't end up sticking together.

Measure for them ? No common sense comes into play on some things, which hardly anyone has anymore , but if they would have had, it was clear that the TV would never fit into that puny Disco Car

Rotated the tires.

Did some online searching about it, and found that some people think, or thought that radial tires could not be crossed over to the other side on a rotation.

But that Tom Mudd used to work in tire shops and he knew that was not true.

And that others here, or once here also got over that idea.

So that the recommended tire rotation for the Liberty 2008 was front crossed to rear, and rear straight to front. Which is what I did.

I used the heavy 3 ton Harbor Freight Daytona jack (in blue to match the Jeep).

And two of 4 Torin black Black Jack 3 ton jack stands from Walmart. While at one Walmart I saw Torin black Black Jack jack stands ... 6 ton. Monsters Just what I needed for the Jeep. And in jacking first the back, then moving to the front, I found that the 3 ton were too short to really keep the front level with the back, which was with the axle on the 3 ton stands.

Also, in doing this tire rotation a spring appeared, almost behind me as I was putting the tires back on. I will post elsewhere about that. As it was a 'mystery spring' in that I didn't know where it came from, or what it went to.

PCV and PCV hose swapped out. The engine is happy, runs smooth, and no codes or pending codes.

It’s hard to see the PCV valve because it’s behind everything else, but that shiny new hose connects to it.

If anyone with an 07 and up wants to do the PCV valve, definitely also get the hose to go with it. The 14 year old rubber elbows on the original hose will break apart upon removal because they have lost their elasticity.

Vehicle gun rack...
Brings back memories of my dad, having a "talk" with my mom.
Having bounced from Massachusetts to Alabama (Air Force) was a bit of a culture shock for her, and it took a little while for my already... energetic... mom to adjust to the slower ways of the south. He'd occasionally have to remind her that yelling at the locals WITH GUN RACKS in the back of their cabs, was probably not a good idea. Funny part about that is, I bet none of them were a) intimidated terribly by my 4'11" 100# soaking wet mother giving them the business, or b) considered touching their firearms. They more likely had the thought of "that poor woman from the north... what do they do to them up there?" She calmed down after a couple weeks.

Then there was the "snow storm" the state police, and the snow tires story. :D

I lost the previous thread, do you still have the part# for that hose?

I finally spooled on the cable on to my winch that I have had had since January.

I used the tuffy license plate mount and the daystar winch insulator to hold my hook in place. The combo works great!

The license plate has a silicone license plate cover to keep the vibrations and rattles down. I also put some RTV between the fairlead and the mount to keep the rattles down.

Went for a drive in my back yard, pulled down a 60-70ft tall pine tree and chopped it up for firewood so the kids could roast marshmallows this evening.

Most of the tree is loaded in the back.
