Seriously considered tossing a hand grenade into it and walking away! Since I'm out of those I went looking for something with which to light it on fire and make it go away, but, I'm out of hot dogs and didn't want to waste a good fire.

I'm going to try to make it to Butler this year. I have customers in the area so I can write it off as a business trip :mexsmoke:

What are the dates this year, Smitty?

Bob

Its June 10-12 this year. I went last year but not in my Liberty, I was driving a friends Wrangler. There was one lifted KK there last year but all the rest were mostly stock KJ's. It was a good show, I just went for the day on Saturday.

Was there ever a direct answer to how much lube to use with that cover? I do like the price and how it looks but just curious about any capacity change.

I also have the Solid cover and put in three full quarts - stock is just under two quarts IIRC. The extra capacity means that the stock quantity doesn't adequately lubricate the differential case and gears.

I'm not fan of squeezing three quarts of dino oil into the diff (that stuff is THICK!) but better to be safe than sorry.

I thought the consensus was to NOT fill the thing entirely? Otherwise it'll blow out the breather.

Yep I was there with my stock KJ as well. I might make it there again.

It's not filled completely - the oil is around an inch below the fill hole if not more. The Solid cover just gives that much more capacity. ;)

Well...broke my ABS Speed Sensor trying to get it out, not sure how to remove it now? Sucker sure is stuck in there good... I got it to spin a bit before the connector stem broke off but it would not pull out.

Also received my EVIC unit with 5 wheel TPMS monitor and such, swapped it out of my unit pretty quickly as I had the stock OTIS unit. This one has a much nicer display for sure! The only thing I had to adapt was the sunroof button connector as it was a bit different but wire colors were identical. Looks great! Although MPG doesn't work now thanks to the speed sensor being completely broken now, which tells me our MPG averages and such likely weren't accurate since the speed wasn't being reported accurately as I suspected. We've been using our cell phones with a speedometer program for a while now and I guess that'll continue until I can figure out how to get the old sensor out of there.

I use an app that tracks my speed via GPS - and logs the speeds in case a trooper tries to tell me I was speeding 5 miles back :happy175:

By the way, where are you in NE Ohio?

Took the plastic wind deflector off rack, cause I did not like that Rola sticker anymore.
So it got 2 quick coats of paint, which dried super fast in the hot sun today.

Used a bit of silicone to re-install the 4 screws that held it on.
Now it's ready for loading some gear in & camping time SOON !:party52:

Hard wired the CB into the jeep today. Also had to replace the fuse for the front 12V outlet due to some bad wiring on the CB cigarette lighter plug, which is why the CB got hare wired in.

Removed my right rear window regulator, ordered steel replacement bracket. Why the least used window went out first makes no sense. Also ordered new heater fan resistor, been running a jumper ground wire as a temp "fix".
