In a warm place that is sunny
Here is the sad thing.

You can go out an measure 100 cars, jeeps and trucks.
90% of them lean to the left..

There is more wieght on the left more often...

The 10% that do not lean have made ajustments for this.
like Battery on the right or rear right
Gas tank on the right
Spare tire tools on the tight
Extra Computers on the right
A wedge to bumps the lef tof 1/2 inch to over come th eknow sage that happen with in 6 months..

Add a spacer to fix it...

My Liberty leaned to the left a little, until I put a Chuck Norris DVD in the right map pocket to straighten it out.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I was at the gealer today and measured it, it's 1/2" lower on the left. I measured one on their lot and it was level. The service rep had me bring it to their collision center to have the body guy look at it and in about a minute after looking things over told me it has been hit in the front left and repaired. Obviously I'm pissed, the salesman never disclosed anything about a crash and it's got a clean Carfax. This was a Chrysler employee rental unit so someone should have reported the repair. Now that I know this a few other issues make sense too. It had noe odd tire on it when I bought it but I didn't notice it right away. It also had some weird paint imperfections in the front left fender flare, and the alignment was off and pulled to the right. They fixed all those issues, including replacing the tire and repainting the flare, and still never came clean on the crash. I'm going to see the dealer tomorrow or Friday and see how they intend to make things right. I'm not sure what I want them to do; fix it, buy it back (plus my mods), trade me for a new one? I just don't know.

Well, I've met with the GM of the dealer and had my own body guy check things out, and he says there's nothing bad going on. The dealer agreed to change the springs under warranty, so we'll see if it levels it out. I'm comfortable with the fact that whatever happened to damage the front wasn't major, the fender and hood have never been removed, there was just a small dent repaired and painted (badly). They are going to do the body and paint again as well, so I think it'll be alright.

Sounds good Woody. I am glad it is working out for you.

Glad you're getting it sorted. 1/2" seems like too much lean for a clean car with good shocks and springs.

Well, the dealer replaced the springs and that pretty much corrected the lean.

No, they are saying it is "designed" that way, 1/2" to 1" lower on the left. I'm not letting it go at that obviously.
I just got off the phone with the service writer and had him measure one on the lot; sure enough, it's level! I'll update tomorrow when I get more answers.

I have a 2009 Liberty Sport and it is level. If it is suppossed to be that way, have them show you all the others on the lot leaning the same direction. There is no way they would build a stock vehicle this way from both a marketing and performance issue. Appears they are selling you a bunch of BS and you might want to sell them some beach front property in Arizona.

That's a very interesting topic. But this field is still new to me. It will be grateful if you give me some
more information about it. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the dealer is full of crap. I looked at the new ones and they are level, they say they measured a customer one with 30k miles on it and it leaned
3/8". I bugged them enough that they replaced all the springs, it still has a bit of a lean but I'm done with them. It tracks straight and runs well so I'm just going to drive it and keep an eye on everything and hope for the best.

I noticed my 2009 Liberty leans to the left. It's about a 1/2" or more lower on the left and the dealer says that it normal. The service guy said the tech told him all Libertys are lower on the left. Is that true, or am I being BS'ed?
I have always thought that my '08 looked like it leaned....but i have an incline in my driveway, so I thought to was just an illusion....glad it's not just me....

Australia , Downbottom.
I think it would be the right rear in Australia. :D Seeing how everything is backwards to us in the Northern hemisphere.

Nope, they hang to the left here too..... Both my KJ's have a lean to the left, My old V6 developed it, I replaced the coils, twice, twice it came back. My new "older model" CRD KJ came with the lean.

Only thing I can think of is torque.
