I'll fire up the desktop & post something back in about 30min or less.
You attached a .png file eek. Do you have one in a jpeg?
Anyways here is a quick jpg conversion, it's getting a bit late...see if this works for now..
It may still be to big, I'm tired.

A lot of detail gets lost in reducing the image to less than 2000 bytes.
It would be better to find a photo that has a more contrasting back ground, less white.
I then can try adding in additional contrast & sharpening.
The clearer high quality 5+ mega pixel camera image in a Jpeg, is the best way to start.

IDK why Avatar has to be so picky. Your file size is almost 5 KB.
I have special software that reduces images and then also reduces quality to under 2KB= fun.
Post a bit of a larger clear image that you want here, & I'll try to get one right for you in reply that should work.

Took a new pic, 64MP. cropped and https://imgur.com/JFUgvHA
please do your magic?
I tried paint3d and reg paint. shrank to 65x63 but still 3.45kb and no go.

Your avatar's file size is too large. Please upload an avatar no bigger than 2 KB.

I have looked at a lot of other members' avatars are most are over the 2kb limit. why not for me? Like yours is 3.39k.

This is not easy, another half hour reducing sharpening & was still too big.
This one should work at 1993 kb.

All I can think of is my avatar was uploaded well before the Forum was switched to XenForo software.

You're welcome.
Doesn't look too bad considering to get to 1993 kb required reducing & then drop it back further, to 30% of small original quality.

Is it possible for one of the mods/admins to increase the maximum file size for an avatar image? 2KB is absurdly small! Photoshop can't even compress my 200x200 jpeg image below 40KB. I don't imagine anyone is on dial up anymore, so trying to minimize image sizes is irrelevant.

Leave it with me, all I can do is propose a slightly larger file size. What I would really like to see is an auto re-sizing avatar.
I'll add that to the XenForo wish list to the developers, & see what they say.
Tech has now been contacted. ;)
