Hello all,

I got a few questions about the Adjustable struts from JBA, hopefully someone here has an idea.

I’ll start by saying, I’m interested in them solely for the max ride height and the compact diameter of the strut itself to decrease coil spring contact. I don’t care about the adjustability and I’ve noticed that a lot of others don’t either.

You can buy most of the components for the struts a la carte, but not the strut mount or the compression/rebound adjusters.

My question basically is this: What’s stopping me from buying the shocks, springs, strut forks and hardware kits for the Adjust a Struts and then fabbing my own strut mounts? Just buy a top plate set and there’s my template. The only thing I lose is the ability to change rebound/compression, I could still adjust the ride height. I also save a boatload of money.

Compression / rebound adjusters are part of the shock itself
Strut mount( shock mount ) clevis, etc are all made specifically for the JBA coilovers so you would need to start from scratch and design it all yourself.
Some have talked about doing that but in the end made one or two sets and found out it was not worth the hassle
Of course then if you have an issue maybe dealing with 2-3-4 or more companies
But good luck , I love the adjustability of mine both height wise and the compression and rebound .
As far as money, well depends on how you look at it , getting ready next week ( or suppose to) be doing a JK lift that is over 2500.00

I’ve been doing mine in stages. Been running the OME for awhile, but it’s not the endgame build. The only thing that will stay are my UCAs.

The rear is always easier, had it mapped out for years. Custom heimed long arms to match the 4-link, blah blah blah. Not even going to say how high it’s going because I don’t want attention lol.

But I’ve went back and forth on this GD IFS for a decade now. I’ve talked to JBA about my options multiple times and I know I’m doing a cradle drop and some other goodies, but having the smallest diameter coilover system will benefit me greatly.

It’s curious as to why they don’t sell the strut mounts though. I’m not too worried about it, not a hard fabrication to pull off. They were nice enough to lay it out for me with some nice close up pictures.

Definitely, going to get a locker as well while I’m at it. I’m not expecting the stock CVs to stand up to a whole lot of abuse at that point so may as well look into custom shafts.

In the meantime though, how much do those reman CVs run at Napa? I can never get there before they close lol

60-65 usually
but if you are thinking of going that high, they won't work, I maxed them out at 4.5 inches and needed to keep changing them every 20,000 or so
If thinking of using the stock D30a then 4.10s are the lowest you can go gear wise , sounds like you're wanting big tires so will need that steel diff to go lower

I never disagreed with you with anything in this thread. How many PMs have a sent you over the years? You act like I’ve never confided in you at all. You do realize it’s quite the opposite right? Hence the PMs, directly to the person I thought most qualified to answer KJ questions.

But that’s okay though. Moving on. I’m not going to let my thread become another vs. mudd ******* match. Seen way too many.

Didn't say ya did, just that you're wanting to go a different way that doesn't work as well, so letting someone that agrees that way works answer your questions.
I think I have answered all I can with your posts and PMs
Have a wonderful day
