yea i've done that too. gets tiring after a while, and I have 4 vehicles and a grade, so why not be lazy? :D

also: 05 ABS is 3-sensor, and 06/07 is 4-sensor. are the parts from an 06/07 axle movable to an 05? or is the mounting point for the 2 rear sensors cast into the axle housing. FSM pictures aren't helping.

asking because, found two vehicles I might get for parts jeeps...
05 v6 6spd 4x4 130k miles, needs driveshaft (doesn't say which one) and "grinds" when going into gear (thinking, bad clutch?) asking $1300 but can probably get for much less.
06 v6 6spd 4x4 175k miles, new clutch, needs tires, no listed problems. asking $1400 but also negotiable I suspect.

parts i'm looking to keep the donor them would include engine, trans, t-case, diffs (to get converted to 4.10's and DTT's), interior bits, etc. distance to both is about the same, and I could get the 05 for much less, with a lower mileage engine.

both are the same body style, and neither have the same window regulator setup, so the parts I'd be looking to keep are mostly there.

Spent the entire afternoon installing an EVIC.
Compass works fine, no tire pressure readings because I don't have TPMS, no temperature reading because I haven't gotten the sensor yet, programmable options work, but instant MPG, miles to empty, and miles to service all just show dashes. And occasionally a message pops up that says "not receiving J1850 msgs".

I used the EVIC's self-diagnosing option, and it says it failed the self-test. So, I hooked up another EVIC I had laying around... and exactly the same thing happens :favorites68:.

I have a hard time believing that both of the units are broken. Does anyone have any clue what might be causing this?

from my understanding, the EVICs are year specific so it depends on what you have.

I modified a pair of old vintage FJ speaker guards to use on my kj. Gotta get them powder coated in satin black first though.

My liberty will now feature modified parts from wranglers, xterras, frontiers, and fj cruisers. Lol. Nothing from Land Rover or Hummer yet... but it could happen - I'm not finished yet. ;-)

sorry, my limited came w/ an EVIC.

The only KJ's that you can add an OTIS/EVIC to must have the Premium BCM installed on it.

You have a Premium BCM if you have any one or more of the following options:

Keyless Entry

Steering wheel mounted radio controls

Fog Lights

Not today but yesterday I put a smallish American flag sticker in the corner on the passenger side rear cargo area window. (flag) Maybe it was in remembrance of D-Day.

I do have the premium BCM.
The combination of the PCI Bus error and the self-test fail is just very weird to me.

Is that legal where you live? I thought sidemarker lights or reflectors were required. The Jeep Liberty uses the sides of the taillights to be in compliance with that law. You might have to add some other type of light or reflector to stay legal, if that's a requirement where you live.

Looks like it really depends on where you live.

They are required as per the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards #108. However, I think those only apply to the construction/design of new vehicles, not to aftermarket modifications done by a consumer.
And even if it does, it's not something local law enforcement officers have jurisdiction to enforce.

However, I did a quick google search and it looks like there are several states that actually have regulations requiring them as well.

Edit: ah, Tog lives in Australia. I guess that changes things.

You are right its not a state thing either, its Federal
Plus why would you want to do away with something that may in fact give a reflection back when your Jeep is parked and some one may hit it. I put some tint on mine but it still reflects light . Would never completely do away with or cover it ( side of housing.

Got my JBA a arms in. Now to get them installed this weekend after a run to the junk yard. I can't wait for the squeaky ball joints to be gone.
