Loud thud sound from suspension

Sometimes, when I turn steering wheel left I hear a very loud thud from the front left suspension. Also happened when I climbed a (really) low curbside, pretty slowly :Violin:

Everything else behaves normally. Visual inspection shows nothing (well, to me).

What might that be? How to check it?

I have a 1000 mile journey coming soon with the KJ I don't want to have any issues during this long drive.

Check the sway bar bushings and end links. Can replace all of them in an hour and with $50 so that might be worth a shot if they are suspect.

Could be the driver's side steering rack bushing as well. You can get some rubber washers and jam those above and below it. 2 1/4" x 3/4" x 1/8". I did one below and 3 above, better to do 2 and 2 but I could only get one under it.

Sway bar stuff is just unbolting and replacing stuff. Usually not a bad job. Steering rack bandaid is a little tougher, not by much.

Safe to drive I would think, annoying yes but especially if it's sway bar related it's nothing that'll strand you
