Thank you for the reply. I made the post on my iphone so i couldnt figure out how to upload more than 1 on it and the pictures wouldnt pull up on my computer. He claims it was his wifes car but she recently purchased a tdi so now it just sits. I didnt know those parts where so bad, im new to the jeep world, ive never owned one but im planning on purchasing one at the end of this month, so im trying to learn and get help making the smartest choice i can. My budget is about 6k and my pain interests are YJ's, TJ's, and KJ's. Unfortunately most of the YJ's and TJ's around where i live are way out of my budget. how would the suspension need to be redone and how urgent would that be?

The UCAs and the extra parts they sued from RRO are not a good setup at all. So I'd be watching them closely , well if I was buying I would redo the front lift, you can get the same amount of lift in a better way. I have 4 running KJs and one non running now plus done a LOT of KJ lifts over the past 11 years so sort of have an idea of whats best / what works etc

Thank you very much for your input!!! I now understand why you recommend the front lift be replaced, my question is what would you recommend i replace it with that could fall within a college students budget? Based on your feelings about the lift, would you say its not off-road capable right now at all?

If the PO used 927 OME springs then they are more than likely good, the RRO parts are what would concern me
You could always remove them and do a couple of tricks to have the same height.

Wouldn't worry about that at all

If its been maintained good then it will be fine

Yes, that's what I said. If it has been maintained it will be okay.

Then why did you ask where to get them?

your comment " Love those damn seats! Where would someone get these? "

Maybe because I can't find them?

Tom is the lift guru around here, so he knows better than I, but I'd say switch out the RRO parts at the earliest convenience. It's probably perfectly drive able, just know that once you get better parts in it'll be a lot better. It's not going to explode. :happy175:The springs and shocks sound good, which is at the core of everything.

At least the previous owner used the OME springs. The other parts are pretty easy to swap out.

Here are my opinions for what they're worth. The bedliner is kinda chintzy but maybe it looks OK in person. The wheels are GREAT if they are actual Jeep wheels - some aftermarket wheels of that style aren't quite as good. Really like the Katzkins - those are an expensive upgrade. The Pioneer is similar to one I had - and the addition of another power outlet in the cubby in front of the shifter is nice in today's electronic age. Tires look good and should be ready for most offloading you're likely to do. And the Detours winch mount makes it easy to add a winch later - and the Detours system is stout and first class.

All in all I'd say that's a good Liberty - and if he'll take $5000 for it and you commit to saving to replace the RRO parts then you'll have a really sweet Liberty. :waytogo:

Didn't see the winch mount. That's an awesome upgrade, I have one on mine. You won't even need to switch springs out when you get a winch, I have a Warn M8000 with the 927s and it is perfect. Any mention of skid plates? If it doesn't have those or rock rails I'd get those before doing major trails.

Overall I would say go for it if you can get past the bedliner. That IMO is the worst part and the hardest to fix. Which I guess you can fix it. You can get stuff to remove it and then get the hood/roof repainted. Looks like the Jeep is a cool color otherwise.

Probably easier to go to a wrecker for a new hood, if it really bothered you, but seems like a good deal, and I think you should try for it. After getting it mechanically inspected.

Just looked at the pics closely and it doesn't have Selec Trac as stated. Not a big deal really, that's definitely not a deal breaker. Bargaining power though if that's how it was listed. It has Command Trac. Those seats look awesome though.

Good catch, HJ. i didn't see that first time around. I checked out those Katzkin's - pricey! About 2 grand for a full set if I'm looking at their website correctly

an 02 w/ a 42RLE????
must have been switched out then

Not even sure that's possible without a complete computer swap. :emotions34:

Still haven't been able to track this one down, but I can remember it from the hood etc
But seems some things do not quite seem right for some reason if he knows what he has.

I'd make sure they are included. I've seen some deals where at the last minute the guy says something like "Oh, those are not included." Then he wants to jack the price up... :emotions34:

Figured it out. All components seemed familiar to me...

ROCKFATHER DELUXE contains:
New Old Man Emu front custom springs.
Under-the-Top® strut cap and spacers for 3" leveling lift in front.
Old Man Emu or Heavy Duty GR2 front strut shocks.
Custom full height rear springs. Full height! Not small springs with a spacer included.
Rocky Road engineered rear shocks
Optional pre-assembly of the front struts.
INSANE ARMS upper A-arm control arms included. More information on these
INSANE ARMS optional bumpstop extensions.

I would just check part numbers on the OME stuff and make sure it's all good stuff. Trash the over-the-top spacer and the upper control arms. I would also get new rear springs.
