I know someone thats wanting to sell this and im wanting to know from yall if its a good deal or not because i do not know much about vehicles. 02 Liberty, 6 cylinder, select-trac 4wd, 129k miles, asking $5500. He said the hood and roof paint and clear coat started to chip so he put bed liner on it. It also had a large list of upgrades that will be in the 2nd post.

Some good and bad parts there
Some I would never install on anything others are top of the line
As far as the looks it seems OK except for the bedliner
Price not too bad for whats included but I'd still shy away

By the way you can include more than one picture per post

Love those damn seats! Where would someone get these? ;) Good deal. I'd ask 5000$ if he'd take it!
Not really digging that Bedliner on just the hood and roof though.

Thank you for the reply. I made the post on my iphone so i couldnt figure out how to upload more than 1 on it and the pictures wouldnt pull up on my computer. He claims it was his wifes car but she recently purchased a tdi so now it just sits. I didnt know those parts where so bad, im new to the jeep world, ive never owned one but im planning on purchasing one at the end of this month, so im trying to learn and get help making the smartest choice i can. My budget is about 6k and my pain interests are YJ's, TJ's, and KJ's. Unfortunately most of the YJ's and TJ's around where i live are way out of my budget. how would the suspension need to be redone and how urgent would that be?

Well I love mine. A little more than I should. I've invested way too much into it and so far the best investment I put into it was the new engine. My old engine blew due to bad timing components. 3800$ and running great with 3800 miles. My advice, find out if he used full synthetic if you plan on using synthetic oil if that engine was not ran with full synthetic, do not use it. Use regular oil. My reasoning behind this is I got my jeep from my grandpa. He used regular oil. He putted it around and drove slow. I didn't and broke a timing chain tensioner. Paid to get the whole timing set done because I didn't have time to do it and 3 months later it started ticking again then blew up 3 months later. Now I have a new engine and used Mobil 1 full synthetic the day I hit the 500 mile break in.
Also have heard stories of people getting high mileage vehicles and switching to full synthetic and ruined the engine.

As always being a used vehicle, change the oil, remember the mileage and change it every 3000 miles. That's what I do even though I use full synthetic. Mobile 1 full synthetic is what the dealer recommended to use. Told them I had a shop install it and at the time it had only 400 miles on it with the break in oil. So, 500 miles came, changed it, and everything good!
Also get it on a lift. Check to see if there's play in any of the wheels. Get the alignment checked, the battery and alternator checked and you should be okay.

Only want the best for you and I hope you close the deal and she lasts you a long while!

Interesting! ill ask, but your basically saying that if the one type of oil isn't used constantly then that will wreak havoc on the engine? why is synthetic bad vs normal oil? I really appreciate your replies and advice! if i go through with the purchase i had planned to take it to a shop shortly after and have it completely checked out from head to toe.

We'll, synthetic oil is not bad. It's just hard to determine if there's sludge build up in the engine if the previous owner used regular oil. Synthetic will not sludge up if you do your intervals. That being said, if the engine hasn't used synthetic oil, any oil sludge or deposits could be sealing a bad gasket OR when you put full synthetic in, the synthetic oil and CAN free up those oil deposits and sludge and clog oil passages and even the oil pickup tube and oil pump causing internal failures

Yup. Could happen. Some will disagree that that's possible, but it definitely is.
