Hi all i've been member for a couple years and reading the different threads i've been able to glean off the info for my particular repair and or maintenance needs. Well I now have an issue that I am asking for your collective wisdom. I have a 2002 liberty 2x with v-6 3.7 loaded with everything working great. I had engine and transmission completely rebuilt with all oem parts. The jeep is in excellent shape and runs great. My only issue started about six months ago. I decided to change the coolant and while at it changed out the thermostat and both upper and lower hoses, including the hose clamps. About a month after that my wife borrowed it to take her sister to a nearby city appx 100 miles round trip. On the way back my wife noticed the temp gauge had gone a little over where it normally ran right about the middle. She stopped at a gas station and the attendant says she was low on coolant and they added coolant and water. She made it home OK. Next day I checked it and saw the top radiator hose was leaking at the radiator. I proceeded to retighten it and everything was fine. I changed the coolant having read that it must use the chrysler coolant only. Everything was OK for about a month when again I noticed that I was leaking on the top hose at the radiator. I have replaced the clamp but a question pops in my head, is there a certain orientation of the clamp to keep it from looseing or just chalk it up to bad clamp. Your input is greatly appreciated
