Had the oil changed the other day. Taking it to get oil sprayed for rustproofing. Need to roll underneath to pull the bolts for the skids and put antisieze on all the bolts. I want to do tire rotation and also want to find clunk in front end when wheel drops. I suspect the sway bar end links. Washed and waxed last week so paint should be fine over winter.

Really just need to put the viscous clutch fan back on and I got a replacement shroud with Efan too. All the other stuff is done (plugs, diffs, ******, oil, Tstat, hoses, even scrubbed the underbelly). May replace the belt tensioner, I have a gates on the shelf in the garage next to all the other stuff (starting to sound like Tom )

Spent an hour and half turning my brown engine bay into one that looks fresh off the lot, cleaned the underbelly painted what needed to be repainted and washed waxed and sealed it. Just need to replace the rear UCA which should be shipped when Jo6pac gets my money order, then the front crank seal and she'lll be all up in tip top shape

wow, sounds like you boys out east really have a time with the rust. My kj has never seen the inside of a garage, only gets the undercarriage washed when I dive through puddles (maybe 2 or 3 times a month) and it's just as clean as can be underneath

Yeah what humidity is there in CO? None but they do use that craptastic sodium chloride mix in the winter, not sure about Denver but they use that crap here in the Springs,if they even bother let alone play any roads.

MagChloride is not as horrible as people claim. Yes they use it here. I live on the west side of Denver, grew up and regularly drive to and from the mountains where they use it a lot, and have yet to see very many affects from it. Hell it doesn't even erode Plastidip!

I just checked my Good Year Wrangler Silent Armor 245-65-17 tires using a quarter for tread depth.
I suppose I should buy an actual tire depth gauge soon .:icon_lol:
I am surprised they still have a fair amount of beef left on them.
Outside edge is wearing more though- ya alignment time again... :whip:

In the top left corner photo you can see the mountain peak/snow flake rating beside the M+S. This is a relatively new standard, and the silent Armor & DuraTrac's have the approved winter rating.
They can turn you around in the mountains here in Canada or most of our roads here, give you a 120$ fine if you don't have winter tires or as I find out..chains as an option.
Insurance also plays a role if you have an accident without winter tires it may simply be 100 % your fault automatically! !
Info Link BC Roads: Tires and Chains - When are Winter Tires and/or Chains Right for Me?
Tire rack also has some good info about the snowflake rating.

It would appear that after the 2009 LT Silent Armor Recall that Good Year has stopped using the Silent Armor Name!

Recall Link: http://www.goodyear.ca/en-CA/company/voluntary-recall
The new Name brand with Kevlar is now GY Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar.

Ah maybe Goodyear was not so voluntary with the recall..
There were drugs involved at the factory? Really..?? :smoke2:

Stuck a pair of Weathertech custom fit liners in. Will try to get a good coat of wax on before it freezes up around here. Maybe that will happen when I'm down in Virginia next week.

Nice ! The digital fit liners are the way to go!
After heavy use though they get kinda grey & dull Steve.
I use Mother's back to black (about the only thing that seems to work) to get em looking like new again.

I bought the gray ones, and being "me" I am used to dull by now.

Those look good, TC. :happy160:
