It's time to get rid of the KJ. And a good bye to some of you for a while.

Jen and I are bored of it.
The Liberty is way too small for our needs.
Way too much money to put a real lift under it and run 35's so you can
actually go to real off road places here.
Then on top of that it's not powerful enough; even with lower gears.

Time to build a bigger, stronger, more powerful off road vehicle.
Camperize my 1977 E350.
Integrate a heavy duty 4X4 drive system into it. I have a 460 c.i.d. gasoline
engine powered van with only 167,000.0 miles on it and starts everytime with
a fresh battery, also has a H/D C6 rebuilt ******.
A 7. whatever liter Diesel would be nice to swap into it..

I'm going to spend all my free time from now on building a vehicle instead of
reading all the B.S. from 80% of the web wheelers here on this forum.

Jen and I are not posers.
We are ******** Outdoors people/backcountry travel enthusiasts
who 4X4 and camp twelve months of the year.

And we have the photographs to prove it.

I am disabled now and can no longer Mountaineer, Backpack, or hike so
we off road now.

Time for a comfy go anywhere camper van

ps: to those folks who complained about my comments???
What a bunch of wankers and whiners.
Want some cheese to go with that?
Probably all the newer members anyway.
If it was people I have spoken with over the last 5 years and 11 months you would of whought they would sent yo a pm!

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Sorry to hear the physical limitations...getting into the backwoods is therapeutic for both mind and spirit so adapting to what gets you there is paramount. I posted on the What'd you'd do to yer Heep Today thread...re: the 350 short box question you posed - I'm in agreement...ya gotta have the right tool for the purpose or it's limiting. Look, anyone with nearly 10,000 posts might just need a change, so go for it. A mans soul is his own to keep...there are no excuses thereafter. Just remember, where you lead others may follow.

Good luck, God Bless, and enjoy! Take it easy...

So that explain it a bit better than the 2 previous thread I saw and commented -_-...

Where ever you will be, remember that many people are still waiting for their place in the wood, and that you`re not the only one who is bored about big city and other crap like that.
I hope your Kj will find a new owner that will love it and beat it the way you did with all the pic and trip you showed here.
Maybe you will show us some next trip with the next coming beast!

This guy has spent altogether too much time on this forum...worrying about all the bullshitters and posers out there. Really...worry about your own shit. People suck - especially on the internet. Get over it. What a string of rants today! Epic...

Good luck Ry - I'm sure us posers will miss the blunt but solid advice...

Wish you the best.
I've learned lots in the year or so I've been here. I've put 40k on my kj since last October (95 mile round trip commute each day), a little off roading, lots of trailer towing basically using it the same as the f150 I downsized from. Lifted it up, blew it up too and the advice here has helped me greatly.
Spent 10 years on a Boston Whaler forum until we got rid of ours- felt the same many times. I beat our boat fishing and playing hard with it and hated reading about which speakers looked best and shit like that. Left twice and came back. Same with 2 different fishing forums that unfortunately got ruined with too much politics. I'm also on 2 pop up camping forums that are ok so far ( been camping 30 plus years in the same pop up since I was 12!)
Plenty of ***** in the world, some here, there and all around us!

Make that 460 more of a torque monster...you can bore and stroke a stock 460 block to about 600 cubes (lotsa metal there).

Ry, hope you and Jen find what you're looking for - be it a new 4X4 or an online forum that makes you happy.

Remember that those of us in 'flatland' don't have the opportunity to wheel in backcountry mountains every weekend - best we can do is abandoned country roads or ATV trails on someone's farm. Or pay $20-$25 a day to go to an offroad park and be limited by how far the owners want to push the insurance liability envelope - with boulders (usually old concrete partitions), mud puddles made with water pumped from an old firetruck into a depression in the trails and construction grader tires stacked up to function as a rock wall. What you have in an hour's drive is 2000 miles away for a lot of us.

And though a trip out West to Ouray, CO, Moab, UT and other places like them are on my bucket list, priorities dictate that I first pay off my daughter's nursing school tuition (she graduates Dec 14! :party28: ), put a few gifts under the Christmas tree for the family, make the mortgage payment and put food on the table.

But ya know what - I enjoy driving my KJ on the highway as my DD and I drive an hour one way to go to one of those off-road parks described above that's only open to 4X4's one weekend a month. I'm jealous of the places you get to take your KJ but I don't begrudge you the blessings you have - and I would hope you won't begrudge my geographical reality and the current station in life that prevents me from doing what you get to do.

I appreciate your input here on JeepKJCountry - but if I need a fix of belligerence and put downs I'll just tune in an American political debate and avoid your posts.

Well said Bob.

Hey Ry...I can bump your posts up to 9999 if you want, so you can get on with your life quicker since we seem to be holding you back.

Sounds like Ry Ry ran out of bud yesterday. Or, more likely, is withdrawing from painkillers.

Well if he can use it to improve his medical outlook power to him. I live on morphine but cannot use that terrible bud. Most of the public do not know enough about pain to even open their traps. Best wishes to you and Jen, I hope that you find all that you are looking for. Remember: To thine own self be true, as true now as when Billy wrote it!
If you are ever in Oklahoma give me a pm.

Living your life addicted to opiates is one thing. Treating people like shit when you can't get your fix is a whole different story.
