Well you can still do that, just get parts when you can afford them and then do it all at once.

sound like you are spending to much money
just my .02
I spent about $1200-$1500 on lifting my TJ
but when you factor in the track bars and LCA/UCA's
and the spring movers and shock shifters and upper rear control arm/rear track bar movers I got a bunch more stuff

for what you will gain it to me is just not worth it
all you need to easily run 245/75's is OME coils ,med or HD
and some OE length struts/shocks ,longer rear shocks means longer rear bump stops
but that is easy to do and only about $10 or less

sure you get a little more lift but not enough to really spend twice as much money
and you can still really on run the same size tire or you are going to spend some
MAJOR money on gas or gears
and a gear install is never or should never be just a gear install
the labor is the same for just gears or gears and lockers
that will hit you at least $2000
so lets see
$600 to get OME/Rancho equipment and run 245/75's for a good while and be happy
or
$3200+ to fight to fit 265/75's which will give you a whopping .5" under your rear diff over 245/75's and cost an extra $50 per tire
when you factor in needing wheel spacers at $200 for the set
just for the extra cost of tires + fitting them you could have 1/2 of a rear locker for 245/75's on stock gears

almost a no brainer to me

Well, thats why I'm gonna stick with 245/75's until i can afford a locker and a gear upgrade so I won't be getting 265's for a WHILE and eventually I want to add the ARB Bull Bar with a Warn 9K so I'm really just planning ahead and making things easier on myself. Because with this lift I could slap on the ARB as soon as I get the money. Where with wasting my money on medium coils and not replacing my already worn out shocks and struts, I would have to upgrade to HD coils and swap to new shocks and struts. And with this lift, I can do a gear and locker upgrade as soon as I get the cash and immediately be ready for 265's, where I would have to replace the shocks and struts just like the ARB and probably upgrade to HD coils if using medium coils and stock shocks and struts. Which I would probably lose money doing because no one is going to want my used mediums, so I wasted my money on them. So I feel confident that my plan will save me time money and a headache later on down the road...

way to much thought
I put the med coils on the wifes KJ with Rancho struts and OME shocks
out back
that was 30K+ miles ago and still going good ,really pushing 40K
if I want to run an ARB bumper then I could with med coils and still fit the same 245/75's
or for right around $300 I could up grade to HD coils AND new struts
the rear is still good ,though I would go with new shocks out back

you are planing for things much much to far out
and trust me with a Jeep you simply can not do that
what you are looking at doing will end up costing in the $5K range
just in mods
is the KJ worth that?
how many miles on it now?
will it last you long enough to justify that kind of investment?
will you keep it that long?

I know me and I get board with a plan and change it often
some time while I am in the middle of working on the Jeep
take my situation right now
I just got a Kilby skid for the TJ ,great deal only $120 in good shape no dents, and I gain 1" of clearance under the fuel tank
problem is I have a hitch that hangs to low to justify even putting the skid on ,so what now?
I can get a new bumper for under $150 with mounts for shackles and a hitch
or I can go with no bumper and only some frame mounted hooks
problem there is I will end up ripping off my spare
maybe a very cheep bumper and hooks? I have that

see what I mean
Get it lifted
OME HD coils
Rancho struts and shocks
and "build on that"
This will get you what you want right now and can be added to

I plan to keep it until it rolls over then I'll probably drop a 4.7 in it. I like to have a plan and stick to it thats why its taken me a year to plan it out how I want it, and learn enough to know what I need to do.

If you don't already have a skid on your rigs tank I'd say definitely put it on anyway, but if you do and its just gonna give you more clearance I'd probably still put it on anyway cuz if you're flexed that extra clearance might keep you from having to use your winch... again just my 2 cents as well...

Oh and I'm at 91k right now, I know alot but I plan to eventually make this thing my hunting/wheeling buggy so that doesn't really matter...

Do it the way that best suits your financial ability Weston.
Regardless of what other people say or tell you!
Everybody is right to a certain degree and and everybody has their own opinion as to "How and when" you should lift your vehicle!
It has taken me two and a half years to buy all the stuff to do our KJ.
I'm not going to tell you it is the wrong way or the correct way to do things.
For us, it made the most economical sense for me to buy all the lift stuff and everything else the way "I" did it.
Nobody is keeping score by the way!

Enjoy what you have and when it's done to your liking... That's all that counts!

Cheers

2 - Old Man Emu (OME) Heavy Duty Front Coil Springs – Model 927 (These are the hard to find, made in Australia version. All new versions are made in China.)
2 - Rancho RSX9000 Front Struts – Model 17505
2 – Rocky Road Outfitters Front Strut Spacer Plate
2 – K3199 Front Lower Ball Joints
2 – Rocky Road Outfitters 2.5” Polyurethane Rear Spring Spacer
2 – Rocky Road Outfitters Hydro 8000 Extended Length Rear Shock
2 - Mopar Rear Upper Spring Isolators

I wouldn't need those LBJ's just got mine changed...I really had rather have OME HD Rear Coils and Rancho Shocks than spacers and those shocks... Does anybody know anything about parts? Is rocky road alright?
