windshield washer nozzle

Has anyone attempted to adjust the spray angle from the nozzle?

The nozzle is one whole plastic piece and thus not adjustable. my DS sprays a little too high.

Anyone have any thoughts?

They are non adjustable. They are set hight so at highway speed spray correctly. Supposedly

Never really had an issue with mine. Is it hitting close to top of windshield..video?
I suppose as long as glass get wet, you are good to go.
Other option= mod where you disconnect those mounted nozzles, get a T-Junction, and run the hose with fine holes, flat along the arm/wiper blades.

yeah. it hits high but not way above the windshield, just a few inches below the top arc of the area of the wipers make so the bottom left part doesn't get hit with the washer fluid.
I might try to see how the one piece nozzle sits on the cowl grille.

Not to hijack but anyone ever replace just the nozzle or do you have to replace the whole cowl. I tried to find the nozzle a few years back and no luck. My driverside is messed up and just dribbles at a spot just above the wiper.

Try cleaning it out with a sewing needle...Probably plugged up?

No worries. I think there was only 1 or 2 other threads on the forum.
You should be able to purchase the nozzel and replace it but you'll need to remove the cowl to get it out.

Part fische has it as 55155854AB.

Maybe you can remove the current on and try to back flush it or soak it in some detergent.

Actually the opposite. I think the PO might have reemed it out trying to clean it and it is too big of an opening so no force to get up the window.

REALLY appreciate the part number! I'll be ordering one today. This thing has driven me nuts for a long while and I could never find the part no matter what I searched. I pretty much gave up until I saw this thread. I think I owe you a beer or three! (Cheers)

Never removed the cowl before and hate the phrase "remove the 4 plastic retainers". Should just say mess up the 4 plastic retainers. Better yet, for reinstall, it then says to reinstall nine clips to the windshield (not in disassembly) and reinstall 5 plastic retainers. I love the FSM. :favorites68:

May want to have a shop vac there too, cause you will probably find that the air intake screen needs debris vacuumed out. Also good time to inspect the seal.
Take photos of the nozzle replacement, also any debris on screen?

Right, sounds simple but step 2 above (the cowl removal) in the body section (23-140 in my FSM) has the "retainer and clip" info. :Wedgie:

Thanks! That is encouraging. I'm not noted for being gentle on or patient with those plastic clips and retainers. :gr_grin:

I actually have a couple spare cabin filters for an 01 outback. I may see if I can cut one to fit.

Yes that's a HUGE help. I have had luck with those type retainers before. I had them on a different vehicle and learned by trial and error already so feeling pretty confident now. The filter idea is a must do now. Wish I had the nozzle so I could do it tonight but won't be here until about Wednesday and my KJ is the daily driver. :happy107:
