I did my front springs this way after I saw youtube video with a Florida man doing it on the side of the road with a screw jack, a few bricks and a wrench.

But this one is a MUCH better video — safe, easy and ZERO pucker factor .. IMO there is really no reason to do it any other way since your over 3/4 of the way there anyway.

Got any info on this? I have an old Military trailer I would like to build out.
My build thread is linked in my signature. Everything I learned about best practices for building it (along with the mistakes) are in there, and the forum people are just as helpful as they are on here.

It does look great … maybe next on the to do list will be new headlamps … or at least a scrub, polish and UV seal. I used the TYC ones from Rockauto for about $30 each and then put a seal coat on them fresh out of the box. ;)

I definitely do. I did it a couple years ago and they turned out nicely but they've yellowed again. I'd like to just replace them with new ones. I'll take a look at those replacements thanks for the recommendation!

I've done it, but never had luck with it. In fact it's why I'm rebuilding my prop shaft again...
Trick is to get them really tight, I've got a pulling tool that clamps the tail and sits on the cleet, then you just turn the screw to pull the tail. If you don't get it pulled in hard it just pops off.

I've had my eyes on the TYC headlights for quite a while now. What brand you of seal coat did you use and would you recommend it?

I used the wipe on sealer that came with the 3M kit because I had too much other work going on at the time. If I had time to do it over again, I would carefully use the spray on 2k Clear that @KJowner applied.

Returned the hub assemblies and used the money from the return to cover a new serpentine belt and tensioner assembly.

Also, weird Q. Any of y'all have rattling PCV valves? Mine rattles like crazy at idle. I've removed the oil filler cap while it's running and manually plugged the vacuum to the PCV valve and it stops rattling, starts rattling again when I let vacuum through the PCV. I've never seen one make so much noise. If you take it off and shake it it rattles like it should.

Update on Seized front brakes requiring a tow to the shop. New pads, calipers, rotors, brake lines.
It was the new master cylinder that was the issue, All good now. :)
I will inspect the rear brakes in the fall, only 20k on Napa rear brakes.
