(Yesterday) Rotated the tires.
Replaced lower ball joint upper control arm and outer tie rod end on driver’s side. Will need to replace washer fluid bottle and coolant flush and I think I’m ready for a Chicago winter
Hauled 500 pounds of trash, had a new code pop up I never heard of...p2110..... throttle actuator control. Uh wut
Ha! Just had an idiot high schooler eat hitch basket! Steel to the shins! My Jeep is not an obstacle in your game of tag. Also, stay off my lawn, hooligans! *turns into old man*
Went for a small drive out west and back, gonna have to get the tires balanced eventually.
Today-ish, over the weekend I fabricated mounts and mounted the new front bumper, then fabricated side gap covers and installed new LED blinks in them.
Yesterday, I bought her replacement. Will be a really sad day to see her go... she's been all I've really known for 10.5 years.
I like your choice of replacement. Could be worse, I replaced mine a while back with a Rav4...
you should consider PM'ing me when you're thinking about selling.
started whizzie wheel'ing the under side of the jeep tonight. got 2 hours in.
cleaning off surface rust (wire wheel), then coating the area being worked on in Krud Kutter for the night. hopefully will get to washing off the remnants tomorrow, then at least coating it with primer. I may not have enough black rattle can paint of the appropriate kind to top coat. (bottom coat??) I won't get it all done before it's time to plow though, so i'm just going to do what I can and keep on keeping on.
previous owner clearly never rinsed the under side after a snow storm, as it came from PA and they're a rust belt state too. I try not to look at the oil pan, as it's going to have to be replaced at some point.
I'll be fixing my XJ for the last time tomorrow. She'll be going down the road to her new home on Friday.
Looked at all my engine codes and failing parts, realized I don't make nearly enough money. But there's sweat equity, and a minor amount of actual blood in this rig, so it's my baby now. If I die in this Jeep, I died happy...
I've had a Tacoma, great trucks! Keep the Jeep for random shenanigans!
You just described every vehicle I've ever owned. Some say I own a fleet of walking dead.
I think the difference is many people drive their vehicles to death without much regard for maintenance, whole many of us take a little more pride in what we drive. My 05 with over 150,000 drives better than new. Ya the upkeep costs, but not as much as a monthly car payment.
Drove to get a haircut. On the way back I turned on my right turn signal and it was clacking away at me like an out of control Morse code sender with a gallon of Red Bull in him. When I got home, all my lights and blinkers tested out just fine.
Any thoughts? I am going deer hunting for the next four days and would rather not find myself 100 miles down the road with a Jeep issue...
Give it time, the dead bulb will reveal itself soon enough.
So very true
I see the ching chong ding dong is back.
