just picked up a really clean 2006 jeep liberty 65th anniversary edition thats trail rated whatever that means
have a lifted & well equipped 2004 GMC Yukon that is having issues so I got this jeep
but thinking now it might be a cool idea to lift it etc
so here I am looking for ideas on how to mount a winch & what lift etc to get
so glad I found the forum
my kid has a 98 grand cherokee on 31s with a 3" lift

Welcome to the forums!
Feel free to post photos of your 06 ride! (we like pics)
Trail rated badge, well it wont be very trail rated without a spring lift / full skid plates & tow points! :)
The OEM suspensions are well sagged/worn out & an OME 927 & 948 spring lift, with JBA upper control arms, restores the ride beautifully.
Here is my before lift and after:

ARB/ a winch bumper is $$ & potentially 790 front springs.
Backbone an option? Tom is the lift expert and can help with any questions you may have.
Lift section is located here:https://www.jeepkj.com/forums/lift-kit-discussion.203/

With an OME lift as described above it will handle and ride 100 times better than when it was brand new
Then install 31s ( like 245-75-16s ) a regear and then it will be a great little ride
two of mine first the 03 with 2.5 inch lift, 265-70-16s, 4.10 gearing , etc
2nd is my 04 I bought new, 4,5 inch lift ( no longer available ) , 265-75-16s , 4.10s, etc
Before I owned the 04 5 months it was lifted , best thing I did to it , since stock handling and ride was horrible due to weak springs etc

The license plate bracket will vibrate like crazy with lights on them

My black 04 I bought brand new
Been through many lifts testing etc , many bumper's etc
But with way over 234,000 miles still does great
Sadly lifts I have on both the green and black are no longer available ( JBA adjustable coilover lift )
so 2.5-3 inch lift is it
My 05 has the OME lift which rides and handles great

03 and 04 both 4.10 gearing, DTT lockers both ends and way too much time and money spent so can never tell any of my wives LOL

my son last monday got the curt rear trailer hitch installed, came with wrong bolts, they are 7/16x14
took maybe 4 minutes with torquing if that
waiting for the plug & play rear wiring to come from e-trailer ~ https://www.etrailer.com/p-C55382.html?hhyear=2006&hhmake=Jeep&hhmodel=Liberty
if anyone else needs the wiring harness etc

got a 30" slim light bar but not sure where to mount it, any ideas? Im thinking behind grill

got the maxxhaul cargo basket on the jeep in the rain today LOL, yes thats how bored I am
OH I also bought from harbor freight cable gun locks to secure this to the crossbars just in case
https://www.harborfreight.com/15-in-cable-gun-lock-57639.html I added one on each crossbar & ziptied them in place to prevent any scratches to the roof

Take the lights off the hood and put 'em up on the basket lower bar or better yet - get one of the Nilight light bars for much better lighting. Nilight also has light mounts for the basket bars.

I went with the frame mounted chrome brush guard on the front on mine. There's a 20" light bar mount on the middle cross bar. It's filled now and boy, does it light up the night.

I have those crossbars. I like how they’re almost invisible on the Jeep.

@AA1PR or anyone else here.. do you mind my asking if you were only looking at, or actually have the CURT 13044 Trailer hitch ?

A local installer says it will fit on an 06 Liberty Renegade, but it would be replacing what may be ?? a factory recall trailer hitch and I’m concerned whether it will fit or not. Your experience is appreciated.
