I'm surprised with both Toyota and Nissan/Infiniti (besides Xterra's) engines.

The Honda, Isuzu and Mitsubishi's 3.8L engines shows acceptable figures.

I'm kind disappointed with the Mitsubishi's 3.0L ... I'd expect a little more.

About the Daimler-Chrysler's 3.7, well... let's see:
- 5.5 hp's less than the average
- 2 ft lbf more than the average
- it reaches the power peak in about 300 RPMs less than the average
- it reaches the torque peak in about 400 RPMs more than the average
- it features about 0.3 mpg better city fuel economy
- it features about 0.8 mpg better highway fuel economy

I believe it's hard to find a most nearer to average engine...

Dem hollers in Ky
I dont think I could stand pulling 5k behind the libby. That would be insanely slow and my ****** would say no.

That said, I got 17mpg pulling a small bass boat(2500 or so) through the hills of Eastern Kentuckeeee to Dale Hollow Lake. I was happy with that since the speeds got down to 45mph on most hills.

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
Stock I averaged 22.5mpg's towing 4000lbs from SD to WA keaping at 60-65mph,hey the math was correct,no evic crap, miles driven divided by gallons used. After lift and most of my current armor I towed 5000lbs from WA to CO keaping it at 60-65mph and averaged 13.8mpg's,man those 265's killed me.

can not trust the evic crap any way
what size tire was the KJ's electronics calibrated to?
the only way to know for sure is to do the math of gallons burned to miles driven and base miles on a good GPS unit
I know that mine is off just by looking at the mile markers and watching the
miles the KJ says I drove
bigger tires cover more ground if they do the same number of rotations as a smaller tire simple math really

even with the 245/75 MTRs and the jeep loaded down with junk I can still scrape 18+ highway MPG

My KJ is calibrated for my 32" tires and 4.10 gears,it's fairly accurate(+/- 1-2 mph),verified my radar(have 3 buddies that are city cops),so no more off than GPS.
