Ok, I picked up a newer auto dim mirror from a 99 Grand Cherokee (A gentex 187) that has the plug in with the 5 pins. From the previous post, I gather that pin 1 is the fused ignition, pin 2 is ground, pin 3 is for the reverse backup, and pins 4 and 5 are not used because they would be for the external side mirrors (which the liberties don't offer). I am probably going to splice into my wires that run to the evic, but wonder if anybody has hooked pin 3 up for the backup function, and where they hooked it up to. (I would like to hook it up if it doesn't involve me running 15 feet of wire to the tailights)
