But why would the VIN say Renegade instead of Rocky Mountain version I wonder

Assuming I do in fact have trac-lok, I'm guessing the clutches are toast. Worth fixing or no? Will anything bad happen if I don't fix it like the clutches breaking apart and breaking other things?
Yup, rocky mountain edition seems right. I don't have any rocky mountain badges but a lot of the things I do have come with the rocky mountain. Rear power outlet, sun roof, cloth seats with jeep logo, interior accents (no idea what that is so I'm not sure I have it), painted fenders, trac-lok, tinted glass.
EDIT: Looking closer at the build-sheet it says JEEP LIBERTY RENEGADE 4x4 SPORT UTILITY. Then under "Optional Equipment" it says "Rock Mountain Group" and "Rocky Mountain Badges". So, to me it looks like it's a renegade with the rocky mountain addon package and I'm missing the badges for some reason.

Hmmm, I saw an unusual one today that this thread seems to clarify a bit. It was a dark blue Renegade with painted charcoal fenders, no rivets and no light bar. Had the Renegade badge on the back right. I'm guessing an 05? I didn't get a good look at the hood as it passed me in the dark, but I followed in traffic for a bit. Was distracted by the apparent lack of the brake light option. :icon_lol: Seriously, it had NO BRAKELIGHTS. Turn signals worked at least.
Never saw one that looked like that before. Could have been a WV vehicle but had MD plates.
