I've been lurking on and off since I bought my 2005 liberty in June of 07.
First problem happened in August of that year. Driving at 55 vehicle goes into limp mode. Didn't know what was going on. Take it to the dealer and the code reads "massive fuel leak". No fuel leaking or mileage drop. The local dealer resets the check engine light and sends me on my way. I figure it's just a fluke. Month and a half later wife breaks down. Same symptom( limp mode) she pulls over and turns vehicle off and it won't restart. Same code.
Jump ahead three years. Vehicle has visited the shop 6 times. The latest from June of this year through August. Air keeps building up in the fuel filter head. So far they have replaced the lift pump in the tank twice, the number one injector, and two fuel filter heads(the first one i bought).
Can anyone help me figure out where the air leak is or how to diagnose?
I won't take it back to my local dealer again and would appreciate the help.

Are you sure you have a lift pump that is not part of the original equipment on these rigs. My 2006 doesn't have one. I have the new fuel head yoh can tell it it have the blue connector at the fuel heater and the wire Is spliced in to that connector. BTW tou can unplug that in most parts of the US, it never gets cold enough to need it most of the time. That is also a point where you can get a leak. Check all the fuel lines and fittings from the tank to the engine.

Swing by www.lostkjs.com as well. They have a very prolific CRD section. A large percentage of their posters are all CRD/Diesel nuts. Lot of good, knowledgeable people there.

You say your dealer replaced the lift pump in the tank. ARE YOU REALLY SURE of that because the CRD as it left the factory did not have one. Some including myself have put in tank lift pumps on their crd's and cured the air in fuel head problem.
